Baddesley Clinton at Christmas

E and I went to Baddesley Clinton a week or so ago to see the house decorated for Christmas. The theme of the decorations again this year is dried flowers grown in the gardens and assembled by volunteers.

The House

Sorry the photos are a bit "iffy" it was a dull and gloomy day and many of the blinds are shut in the house to protect the furnishings so to put it mildly photography without flash is a bit of a challenge!

I can never resist taking a photo of the choughs.

The house really did look beautiful and it is well worth a visit if you live locally.

Time for lunch - the slightly healthier option of jacket potato and salad was my daughters - I had the Christmas cake!

I feel bad that I am not commenting much on your posts, but at the risk of sounding curmudgeonly, I am bound to say that “Ragged Robin’s Nature Notes” hardly ever contains nature notes! Certainly over the last couple of months there has been very little. When you do write about nature I find it well done and compelling. So let’s have a little more please!

How beautiful those dried flower arrangements are, they suit the interior very well. The outer door wreaths are lovely too. I've visited a couple of times but never spotted the choughs. I must look for them if ever we visit again:)

David Gascoigne - thank you for the comment. No need to feel guilty just comment on the wildlife posts.

Rosie - Thank you. The dried flower displays are so beautiful. The choughs are in a window along the first floor passageway which overlooks the courtyard.

Pam - Thank you - I can never resist cake!!

The displays look wonderful and so does your cake :-) I hope to get to see a NT Christmas display before Christmas. Unfortunately Attingham Park is doing timed tickets for the house this year and next weekend is fully booked.

I enjoy all your posts :-)
