I know we haven’t all met, but blog friends are still real friends and times like this show it I think x

I hope that everyone's comments made things a little easier for you. Many of us have been there and sometimes need to realize that relief in losing a loved one is not a bad thing. When my mum died all I felt was relief - I hadn't liked seeing her suffer and get worse (strokes) and it is good to be able to remember her as she was (good bits and bad! We rubbed one another up the wrong way.)

Countryside Tales - Thank you and yes you are so right about making real friends on blogger.

Bovey Belle - Thank you and yes the comments have helped. I must admit relief was what I felt that she was no longer suffering. To have seen her just lying there not being able to communicate, blind (although this was through glaucoma not alzheimer's) and having no quality of life for the last 3 years or so was just awful and so upsetting. As I said to Deborah you feel so very helpless! There were times when mum and I didn't always get on (I was very much a daddy's little girl when younger!)so I understand what you mean about remembering the good bits and bad!

I am glad now I did the blog post (I was unsure at the time as I tend not to write about really personal stuff) but searching out the photos and looking at one's my son had taken and found has really helped me remember her as she was when she was well.
