More Moths

A very late report of moths caught last Friday. Heart and Dart dominated. Trapped 47!!! They are almost as prolific as last autumn's large yellow underwings! Scalloped Hazel, buff ermine, and middle-barred minor were new for the garden.

Managed to take a few photos but the robin is becoming a problem both when I take photos and empty trap as he is regarding the moth trap as a food source. Only way round it is to throw a couple of dozen meal worms at the opposite end of the patio while I pot/photo! I still haven't forgiven him for gobbling down a setaceous hebrew character I was trying to photograph!
