On the Wednesday we visited a NGS open garden called Ivycroft at Ivington Green near Leominster. It was very quiet there and we didn't see anybody else while we were walking round the gardens. Apart from a helicopter but more on that later!
The garden consists of herbaceous borders, a vegetable garden, meadows, lawns, shrubberies and a plant nursery.
While we were in one of the meadows we had very close views of an electricity board helicopter hovering just over the telegraph wires. I don't think I have ever been so close to a helicopter before. Apparently they scan and take photos of the wires and I think compare them at base with past footage.

I have no idea what this flower is but it was very pretty.
We had a look round the plant nursery and greenhouses before we left.
I have a stone rabbit just like this at home - it belonged to my great-aunt Olive.
I love these little gravel gardens with semperviren plants. I had one once at home but sadly over the years I lost all the plants.
Not far away is a garden owned by a certain well known gardening tv presenter but that garden is definitely not open for visits!
We stopped off at Morrisons in Leominster for a click and collect on the way back to the caravan.
Thursday we stayed at Hatfield as it was raining heavily most of the day. On the Friday it was dry and sunny again so we visited Ledwyche Meadow and Burford House Gardens which I will write about in the next post.
All photos taken by me with the Panasonic Lumix FZ330 bridge camera. (I don't particularly rate my photos but if anyone wishes to use one of mine or one of my son's I would be grateful for an email first - thanks).

What a lovely garden, I like the colours of all the flowers there. Good that you had peace and quiet whilst you visited but I hope that they did have lots more visitors to support whatever charity they had opened for. I love the stone bunny, it reminds me of the shape of a pottery one we had when I was a child. I think I can imagine who the TV gardener is. I've seen the white flower before and feel I should know what it is, it is very pretty:)
Thanks so much Rosie. I think the garden is open every Wednesday in the summer and people were leaving as we arrived. Great Aunt Olive's rabbit had been painted white - thankfully over the years the paint has worn off and it now looks more natural. I'll have to try google lenses on that white flower!
A lovely cool looking post in this heat wave we're having. The grain and predominantly purples with whites just cool everything down, don't they? I think you might find your mystery flower if you Google White Tiger Lily. If it isn't one of those, it must be a first or second cousin.
What a wonderful feast for the eyes! I love the gravel gardens too! I think the white flower is a Martagon Lily.
Thanks Debbie - it was hot there when we went but thankfully not as hot as it now is!! Thanks will google the flower you mention - it was rather lovely.
Sal - Thanks so much. Gravel gardens are lovely - I like yours a lot. I must do another one. Thanks re the flower id - will google. it was very pretty.
