TEST POST ON PHOTOS

Still not happy with the quality of uploaded photos so have picked a few of my favourite butterfly photos to see what they look like on new blogger.

I was going to compare with another post with same photos on old blogger but unfortunately it doesn't look as though you can revert back any more.

To be honest have decided, despite a few new good features that I couldn't access before!, I really don't like new bogger at all.  I tried to change print size again but every time you stop to add a photo or pick paragraph option it reverts back to default option which means every few lines I am constantly having to change print size!!! As you can see I haven't bothered with this post!

It's a pain trying to work it all out, isn't it? One thing I found is this. I just let the font do it's own thing while I am composing and editing, then I go back to the top, hit Shift Ctrl End to highlight everything, then change my font to my preferences in one fell swoop. Give it a go.

Rustic Pumpkin - Thanks and yes it is and no reverting back now either :( Thanks re: tip on font and highlighting. I am rubbish at highlighting stuff but will give it a try next time. Butterfly pics look better I think perhaps the wood ones weren't that good. As I've said to you before woods are hard to take photos of - cameras seem to struggle with the detail and on top of that the sunlight can affect things too. Will persevere as I love blogging! Will just put up with photo quality when uploaded if it is poorer!

They look great and nice and sharp on my iPad!

Ooh this is the first blogger blog I have been able to comment on! Most don’t have my Blogger name appearing so I would have to comment as Anon. 😄

Millymollymandy - Thanks so much. They do look much better than wood photos! So glad you can comment with your name. Strange about others though!

There is a way to change the size and font of your text permanently as I found out when re-designing my blog yesterday. When you choose theme your present theme (My Theme) should show at the top. Click on customise. Don't worry - any alterations you make are not permanent unless you choose to save them. Once you have chosen customise scroll down on the left and choose Advanced. Now you can choose the page text size and font. Type in a new font size and click outside of the box and it will show what it looks like.

Clicking of the words 'Page Text gives you access to change all the other aspects of you blog regarding text and colours, etc.

Hope this makes some sense.

Midmarsh John Thank you so much for giving me such help. I have always been wary of changing anything at all in case it affects past posts or I lose everything!!! But with your detailed advice I may give it a go! In fact, what I might do is temporarily create a new blog just to play around and practice and leave the main one untouched until I know what I am doing!!

RR: I was somewhat nervous when I first decided to alter things. When you make a permanent change it will be used on all your previous posts as well as future ones. A temporary blog to have a play with the settings seems a very good idea. Have fun.

Nidmarsh John - Thanks so much. Oh heck you are making me nervous now! Certainly won't change main blog for a while. But I will experiment with a temporary one. Thanks again.

pics look fine to me! right pain though.... I did find that new blogger recognises videos from my phone now!!

The Quacks of Life - Thanks Pete. It is a right pain although I supposed we shall get used to it eventually. Yes some of the new features seem good!

*Superb* butterfly photos, RR. I clicked on them to see the detail at a large size. Like you, I keep wanting to 'go back', but have found it is no longer an option. The compulsory and automatic change-over left one of my blogs in a muddled state... I've spent hours sorting fonts, largely in the html code bit which I always find well nigh impossible! Oh for the old, the intuitive and the functional. We can't be alone in this, can we?

Caroline Gill - Thanks so much - I deliberately picked some of my better photos to see how they would upload. I hate the new blogger and would go back tomorrow to old one if I could but as you say no longer an option :( I used I think to do posts in html but it seemed easy and in the main I had no problem although there weren't many features in my version anyway. But html in new version is awful - I couldn't put paragraphs in so discovered thanks to Rustic Pumpkin that there is something called "compose your own view" or something similar and I now use that but loathe it. Just done a draft blog post and I mention it in that.

I have only done a couple of posts with the new blogger and it was a bit messy and they took some tidying up! Your photos do look good though.

Pam - Thanks so much especially re: photos. I think I am just looking for it! It does take some getting used to. I used to enjoy writing blog posts and now I find it a chore!
