A Walk Around One of my Favourite Gardens

I've had a lot of commitments this week and its been fairly hectic but I did have an hour to spare earlier this week and, as I was passing nearby, I paid a quick visit to Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens.

The Gardens are looking lovely and summery with plenty of colour in the borders.

As time was short I just walked around the walled garden.

My Lady's border is starting to come into flower.

The air was full of the scent of roses - so many old fashioned varieties





















There were lots of foxgloves in flower in various areas of the garden.



The usual species of bird were to be seen and it was nice to see a family party of long-tailed tits.

Before leaving I had a quick look round the nearby churchyard - actually looking for spotted flycatchers although I knew a sighting was unlikely! I did see a a robin and a wren feeding young however.
