Holiday - Peco Gardens, Beer - Thursday, 4th July

On Thursday 4th July we returned to Beer and visited the Peco Gardens. They were excellent value for money we thought as there was so much to do and see there and the gardens were beautiful and very well maintained.

I am not sure how well this photo works but the paving was designed to form a snake

Garden Cross Spider

The Moon Garden

An enchanting Grotto celebrating the mythological sea god Poseidon

There was also a beautiful Night Sky mosaic showing the constellations - seem to have missed uploading the photo (doh!!! - haven't a clue how to put a photo in the middle of a post once they've all be uploaded!)

Rainbow Garden

Sun Garden

The Secret Walled Garden

Beer Heights Light Railway

There is also a miniature 7 1/4" light gauge railway to take a ride on. It travels through the gardens and there are lovely views of Beer.

There is an excellent Model Railway Exhibition to visit - with an amazing array of different model railways all designed to fit in various parts of the home such as the Loft, Garage, Study, Garden, Alcove, Bedroom, Hallway. The attention to detail and the models were absolutely brilliant.

We had a game of crazy golf and there were several playgrounds for children depending on their age.

Didn't expect to see "him" here!

In addition, there is a Wildway Park with flower-filled banks (saw a few Small Tortoiseshell), woodland and a pond with ducks and the Fitness Trail!!

Brian and David went on a Ghost Walk in Lyme Regis in the evening - I stayed in and started the packing!!!

Looks a wonderful garden and some amazing pictures of it.

To insert a picture once you've uploaded all pictures...

place the curser (in the blog) where you want the picture to go.. then select and upload as you would normally... if you haven't already chosen the pic from your pc, you'll have to do that again. If you've already 'chosen' it, just highlight it and 'select'... good luck!

Another beautiful place...it's on my ever growing list of things to do! The gardens look beautiful. I especially like the archway in brick in the Moon garden and the copper ball. I love the structure the garden has. Yes the snake picture came out ok too. Sorry your holiday is coming to an end but it sounds like you had a great time and the weather was marvelous for you all. I have loved all your posts of this holiday.

Tricia - Many thanks :) Oh thanks so much for that tip. Its just I have so many problems at times with blogger putting photos out of order I am always petrified of altering anything once uploaded!!! I tend to upload one photo at a time which takes absolutely ages. When I have a small post with just a few photos I will try your tip. Much appreciated :) Have good holiday :)

SeagullSuzie - Many thanks - really glad you have enjoyed the holiday posts :) Just a few photos of Dartmoor to do now!

The gardens must be fairly close to you and are well worth a visit. But I would imagine they become very busy in the school holidays. Do post some pics if and when you manage to go :)
